24/7 medicine collection arrives at Guy’s Hospital

We’re proud to see our medication collection system officially launched at Guy’s Hospital, helping patients collect their prescriptions securely and conveniently, day or night.

The outpatient pharmacy, operated by Boots, now has 114 smart lockers available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Eligible patients receive a unique link by text message, allowing them to collect their medication without waiting at the pharmacy or having to return during staffed opening hours. Mirroring Clix's service delivered at Kingston Hospital and Great Western Hospital.

Although the system has only recently launched, it has already received rave reviews and seen an immediate uptake in out-of-hours collections. It’s clear early evidence that patients want—and need—greater flexibility when accessing their medication.

For patients and carers, that means less queuing and the freedom to collect at a time that fits around work, family and everyday life. For pharmacy teams, it creates a simpler, more efficient handover process while maintaining security and confidentiality.

Clix Managing Director, Paul Chambers comments: "It's truly a privilege to have our medication collection lockers used in London's flagship hospital, and continue to grow our brilliant partnership with Boots."

This launch is another massive leap towards making medication access more convenient and helping the NHS work more efficiently. We’re incredibly proud to be supporting Guy’s and St Thomas’ and Boots in delivering a service that is already making a genuine difference.
